5.8.09; Bedroom Fire; 558 State Route 88
The Phelps Fire Department was dispatched Friday evening for a possible structure fire,
with smoke detectors activated, and smoke coming out of a second story window. Chief
21-0 arrived on scene and reported heavy smoke from a 2nd story apartment. Phelps
Engine 2131 arrived on scene, forced entry, and made a quick knockdown of the fire,
which was contained to an upstairs bedroom. Three cats were successfully rescued from
the bedroom as well. Other responding departments were Marbletown, Newark, & Oaks
Corners (standby at Phelps Station.)
