8.8.09; MVA; State Route 96

The Phelps Fire Department & Ambulance were dispatched Saturday morning for a
one-car MVA on State Route 96, west of the railroad tracks. Phelps Chief 21-0
arrived on location to find one car into the field, after striking a utility pole. The
impact with the pole broke the pole in two places, leaving the top part of the pole
suspended from the power lines. Phelps Engine 2121 and Ambulance 2191
responded to the scene, extricated one patient, and transported the patient to Clifton
Springs Hospital. The injuries were non life-threatening.
