    The Clifton Springs and Port Gibson (automatic mutual aid) Fire Departments were dispatched
    to County Road # 25 this afternoon for a reported structure fire.  Command went on scene with
    nothing showing, then reported a possible fire in the wall behind the stove.  Phelps Fire
    Department was requested to respond to the scene as well.  2101 and Tanker 2141 responded
    from Phelps.  The fire was quickly contained with minor damage.

12.18.07; MVA; State Route 96 / County Road 13
    Phelps Ambulance along with Clifton Springs Fire Department were dispatched this morning to
    a 2 car MVA with 1 injury at 96 and 13. Clifton Springs Asst. Chief on location first, reporting
    accident is on 13 between 96 and 43, not blocking, everyone out of vehicles. 2191 transported 1
    to Clifton Springs Hospital with neck pain.

12.17.07; Work Detail: Hydrant Cleanout
    Members spent much of the day on Monday cleaning around hydrants covered with snow
    caused by the weekend storm. Members included- Pat Phillips, Paul Conklin, Jordon Dutcher,
    Dana Egburtson, Josh Foster, Pat Bennett,Cory Lightfoote, and Kevin Lightfoote. Thanks to all

12.13.07; MVA; Griffith Road
    Phelps Fire and Ambulance responded this evening for a reported car fire with a disabled
    person trapped inside the vehicle.  First units arrived on location reporting a car that hit a pole
    and went down into an 8ft. ditch with approx. 2 1/2 feet of water, no fire.  The occupant managed
    to get out and waited on top of the vehicle until firefighters were able to assist the patient off of
    the vehicle.  There were no injuries.  NYSEG responded to the scene to replace the pole.

12.13.07; MVA; Mill Street
    Phelps Fire and Ambulance were dispatched this afternoon for a Bus into a pole, on Mill street
    in the village.  2192 and 2102 arrived on location, confirming a bus into a pole, which had also
    struck a second pole.  Both poles were sheared off.  No injuries were reported. [CLICK HERE

11.28.07; MVA; State Route 96 & N. Wayne Street
    Phelps Fire and Ambulance were dispatched at 17:49 this evening for a 2 car MVA in
    front of Oaks Garage. 210 arrived first on scene requesting 2151 for traffic control and
    speedy dry. 2191 & 2192 both responded. 2191 transported 1 patient to Clifton with

11.28.07; Dispatched for unknown problem, possible FIRE
    Phelps Fire and Oaks Corners for automatic mutual aid responded to a residence on
    Orchard Park at 14:11 for a smoke detector activation and home owner reporting
    hearing a "bang" sound. 2131 arrived on-location with nothing showing cancelled
    Oaks Corners after assessment of scene. Blown Boiler Relief Valve was determined
    to be the cause. Other units that responded were 2192, and 3111.

11.28.07; MVA; Pelis Road
    Phelps Fire and Ambulance were dispatched at 0600 this morning to a one car roll
    over on Pelis Rd just West of 88. 2101 arrived on location reporting patient out of
    vehicle, & no need for fire, possible sign-off. 2191 arrived on-location and transported
    1 patient to Geneva with back pain.

11.27.07; MVA; County Road 25 & Bell Road
    Phelps Ambulance along with Clifton Springs fire were dispatched to a 1 car roll over
    at County Road 25 & Bell Road. 2101 arrived on scene reporting 2 patients out of
    vehicle, possible sign-offs. 2191arrived on location for patient assessment &  
    released patients to parents care.

11.27.07; Mutual Aid Standby / MVA
    Phelps Fire Department was dispatched at approximately 8:50am to standby at Clifton Springs
    Firehouse, as they were working a structure fire in Hopewell. While standing by, Port Gibson
    Fire/Ambulance was dispatched for a MVA at the intersection of County Road 27 & County Road
    7. Phelps Fire was dispatched (as fill in for Clifton) to set up a landing zone for Mercy Flight.  
    2131 responded to the MVA, and established a landing zone, then returned to Clifton Springs to
    continue the standby. Phelps returned to quarters at approximately 1:45pm. [CLICK HERE FOR

11.23.07; MVA; State Route 96
    Clifton Springs Fire, Finger Lakes Ambulance, & Phelps Ambulance were dispatched for a 2
    Vehicle MVA on State Route 96, just west of the Yankee Clipper, dispatch reported occupants
    were trapped.  Command arrived to confirm that information, and additional help was requested
    from Phelps Fire and Port Gibson Fire (set up landing zone.) There was one fatality, 1 transport
    to Strong via Mercy Flight, 1 transport to Strong via ground transport.

11.11.07; Mutual Aid to Oaks Corners; Structure Fire; Rte 14
    Oaks Corners & Phelps (automatic mutual aid) were dispatched Sunday evening for a reported
    structure fire, smoke and fire reported on the initial dispatch. Oaks Corners command arrived
    on scene confirming a working fire.  Units that responded from Phelps included 2131
    (established off site water supply), 2121, 2171, 2141, 2191, 210, 2101 & 2102. The fire was
    reported to be under control within a half hour.

10.24.07; Dispatched at 08:52; Melvin Hill Road (South of Phelps Cement); 1 Car MVA
    Phelps Fire, Phelps Ambulance, & OCALS were dispatched at 08:52 to a reported 1 car MVA on
    Melvin Hill Road, just south of Phelps Cement. Dispatched indicated a vehicle in the ditch, two
    occupants. 2102 arrived on location with 2192 and confirmed the 1 car MVA, 1 patient still in
    vehicle requiring extrication. Mercy Flight was requested by OCALS. 2121 responded, used the
    Hurst tools to remove the driver's side door, and patient was extricated. A landing zone was
    established 100 yards from the incident, and patient was transported to Strong Hospital. All

10.24.07; Dispatched at 07:27; Vienna Gardens; Water Problem
    Phelps Fire responded to water in the basement at Vienna Gardens (adult living center.) 2171
    arrived on location reporting a 10'x30' pit about 3' in depth, filled with water from the broiler with
    a temp of approximately 180 degress. 2171 requested additional help and the sump pump off
    2151 along with more 1 3/4" hose. Assignment was cleared at 8:24. [CLICK HERE FOR

10.13.07; Mutual Aid to Clifton Springs; Reported House Fire
    Phelps Fire Department was dispatched for Mutual Aid to Clifton Springs Fire Department for a
    reported house fire early Saturday morning.  2131, 2171, & 2191 responded with full crews to
    assist.  Upon arrival, the fire was under control.  The fire appeared to be the cause of improper
    wood stove ventilation.  2131 assisted with wood/coal removal from stove, as well as roof
    inspection.  2171 assisted with scene lighting, and 2191 was on EMS standby at the scene.  
    Phelps units were then released by Clifton Springs Command.

9.26.07; Dispatched at 01:30, SR 96 & CR 6
    Phelps Ambulance along with Oaks Corners Fire were dispatched for a vehicle over the
    embankment but not in the water. Ambulance 2191 responded with a crew of 3 along with 2103.
    2103 was first on scene along with an Oaks Corners firefighter reporting entrapment and the
    vehicle is on its roof. Patient is breathing but not alert. 2103 immediately called for the "Heavy
    Rescue" 2171. 2191 arrived on-scene and made a quick assessment of the patient and called
    for Mercy Flight. North Side FD set up the landing zone at exit 42 in the tandem lot. Patient was
    extricated from the vehicle after being back boarded and collared. The patient was then carefully
    carried up the embankment and transported to exit 42 to the awaiting helicopter which rushed
    the patient off the Strong Memorial Hospital. Units responding from Phelps included: 210, 2101
    2103, 2104, 2171, 2191.

9.19.07; Dispatched at 19:18; Mill Road
    Clifton Springs was dispatched for reported structure fire on Mill Road in the hamlet of Orleans.  
    Mutual aid was requested from Phelps FD and Seneca Castle FD.  Phelps FD personnel
    assisted with interior attack of structure fire while Engine 31 and Tanker 41 established a
    backup water supply by laying out approximately 1200' of 4" hose to a tanker shuttle location at
    Mill Road and CR 23.  Phelps Ambulance assisted at the scene with firefighter rehab.  Fire was
    brought under control in approximately 40 minutes.  Assignment cleared at 21:21.  Units
    responding: 210, 2101, 2102, 2103, 2131, 2141, 2191.

9.7.07; Dispatched at 15:44; Norfolk Southern Railroad, Route 318
    Mutual-aid was requested by Oaks Corners Fire Department to assist with numerous brush
    fires along the Norfolk-Southern railroad along Route 14.  Phelps Fire and Phelps Ambulance
    responded to assist with the extinguishment of the fires and to provide rehab/stanby EMS for the
    responding companies.  Responding units from Phelps included: 210, 2101, 2103, 2141, 2151,
    2161, 2191. Officer in charge was 2101.Submitted by Wayne Conklin (21-0)

8.18.07; Dispatched at 16:29
    911 call received from dispatch reported a lawn mower fire, which subsequently activated
    Phelps Fire for the job at 16:29.  Chief Conklin (210) arrived on scene and reported a fully
    involved lawn mower, roadside.  Chief Springer (2102) and Engine 3131 responded with a crew
    of 4, and fire was brought under control quickly.  2102 Also responded to the incident.
