Our Services

Phelps Ambulance is staffed with 2 Emergency Medical Technicians (one basic level, one Paramedic level) Monday-Friday, from 7am-5pm, and one EMT-Paramedic Monday-Friday 5pm-10pm.  During other hours, and as needed during the staffed hours, volunteers from the community who are also trained EMT's respond to answer calls for service.  We often work alongside with other ambulance agencies, such as Finger Lakes Ambulance, North Seneca Ambulance (Seneca County), Lyons Ambulance (Wayne County), Newark Ambulance (Wayne County), as well as air medical providers such as Mercy Flight of Central NY and LifeNet.  The air medical transport providers can provide quick transportation to trauma centers in Rochester or Syracuse in the event of serious injuries or medical needs.

Members of the Phelps Ambulance often respond "mutual aid" to neighboring agencies & counties, and have even responded to assist in other areas of the state during a declared State of Emergency, such as New York City and Vestal, as pictured below.

About Us

Phelps Ambulance, Inc. is a volunteer Emergency Medical Services (EMS) agency located in the Town of Phelps, Ontario County, New York, and is a volunteer run, non-profit organization.  Phelps Ambulance handles requests for emergency medical care throughout the Town of Phelps, which encompasses a 65 square mile area of Ontario County and also includes a portion of the New York State Thruway.

Membership & Training

Interested in becoming a volunteer member of Phelps Ambulance and serving our community but aren't already an EMT?  Don't worry, we'll train you, help you get the certifications you need, and will have you helping us to help the community that you live in!

​We hold training sessions nearly every Monday night, at the Phelps Fire Department on Ontario Street in Phelps.  Stop down to the station around 7:00pm, and somebody can help to answer any questions that you might have.  We look forward to seeing you soon!  Our application can also be downloaded with the button below.  Once you have completed it, you may e-mail it to: webmaster@phelpsfire.org or bring it to the station any Monday night at 7:00pm.
